in my room! Well, I asked if I could have a small aquarium - so I am going to get either African Dwarf frogs or fishies. I am over the moon about this news because 1 - those little frogs are the silliest ever and 2 - my kids will have something to take care of!
I finally saw my principal today and we talked about future trainings and concerns. I have a meeting tomorrow to get my CA and county license. I'm feeling more and more ready for the year every day!
I was in my room for eevvverrr today by myself, here is what I did!
Blogger won't let me turn this picture, but you get it. These are nameplates that I will put on the front of their desks, so when I am standing at the front, I can see their names. My biggest peeve is not being able to call my students by name! These may stay on for the year (make it easy for subs) or I might take them off once I get the hang of the names.
For future reference for myself, I wanted to remember which nameplates I got this year. I like these - they seem really appropriate for this age group. It has a hundreds chart, addition chart, a variety of basic and more complex shapes, colors, number line, ruler, left and right, and the alphabet.
Hallelujah. This monster is done. I don't know why this took so much work! Its a poster board with 1"X1" foam piece then the job on top. I ran into a problem with the hot glue burning through the foam piece then the job card would burn my fingers. At about that time when I'm sprawled out on my carpet with hot glue burning me - my principal walks in. :)
At least he sees me working!
Overall, this turned out how I pictured it - I need to add a border and some tissue paper flowers to this board though. It's too blah right now.
This is on the back of a bookcase right when the kids walk in. I just finished laminating and cutting the emotion faces that my kids will use. I will post another picture once I get those faces in there. I'll explain it more then as well.
My front door! It's not done but this is the basic layout. I want my kids to know they can be and do anything.. I think this conveys that. :)
HA! I need to straighten this welcome sign up! But it is awfully colorful!
"When you enter this classroom, you are mathematicians, you are authors, you are scientists, you are artists, you are important, you are loved."
All of this needs to be divided up amongst all the kids. Each kiddo will have 2 folders, a math workbook, reading workbook, a sterilite pencil tub (below), crayons and 2 pencils.
Pencil boxes - do I need to write their names on these boxes?
They will be going in their desks..let me know!
This week holds meetings and a quick trip to Seattle to see a Mariners game! So excited for the week to unfold!
Loves.
